About The Australian Calculator

The Australian Calculator was created to make everyday financial and practical calculations easier for Australians. That includes working out take-home pay and mortgage repayments, figuring out what a car really costs to run, and calculating a uni GPA.

Every calculator on this site is built around Australian terms, rules and, where relevant, current government rates, because a generic overseas calculator often doesn’t translate to how things actually work here.

This website is intended as an educational and general information tool. It is not a substitute for professional advice, and using it doesn’t create any kind of advisory relationship.

The Australian Calculator does not claim to be an accountant, financial adviser, tax adviser or government service. The Australian Calculator is independent and is not affiliated with the Australian Government, the ATO, Services Australia or any other government agency.

How we keep calculators accurate

Rates and thresholds that come from government sources, such as income tax brackets, the Medicare levy, HELP repayment thresholds and the Superannuation Guarantee rate, are kept in a single, clearly dated configuration, rather than scattered through the site. Where a calculator relies on these figures, we show a “rates last updated” date so you know how current they are.

Always check official sources, such as ato.gov.au or servicesaustralia.gov.au, before making financial decisions.
